AMHERST - Dog lovers were in paradise this weekend as the Tantramar Kennel Club Dog Show filled Amherst Stadium with more 350 dogs,
representing about 80 different breeds.

One of the star attractions of the show was Amherst's own "Kruize" BIS V-1 CH Steinplatz Fully Loaded TT CDX - a three-year-old Rottweiler owned by
Isabelle Hoeg & Ruth Hartmann

Kruize won the Best in Show in the conformation category.

"Kruize is my first conformation "show" dog," Hoeg said. "And to have him win Best in Show and have his quality recognized is a great honour."

Kruize already has several obedience and agility wins to his name, so to have him recognized for his beauty in the conformation category is icing on the
cake.
"He's such an amazing dog and such a joy to work with."

Judy Richards, who organized the Tantramar Kennel Club Dog Show, was thrilled with Kruize's win.

"Like I said before, obedience is brains and conformation is beauty, and this dog has it all," said Richards. "It quite rare to see a dog who's a champion in
both."

Hoeg said Kruize is a real ambassador for the breed.

"He's a very trustworthy dog," she said. "Everybody who knows him just adores him."

Raising a Rottweiler requires a lot of dedication.

"Starting at eight weeks old, when you get your puppy, you have to give it a lot of socialization," said Hoeg. "A Rottweiler requires a lot of patience and
dedication but if you are willing to invest the time they truly are an amazing dog to have."

A Rottweiler also requires a lot of exercise and stimulation.

"Rottweiler's are working dogs so I keep him busy with sports and obedience and agility training," said Hoeg. "He has to really be stimulated both
mentally and physically."

Hoeg owns a boarding kennel and say's that Kruize loves to play with the other dogs.

"He has an exquisite temperament and he's very trustworthy. He's just an amazing dog."
